The Gist: South Dublin County Council has officially budgeted €50,000 to introduce "Chatty Benches" across Tallaght and surrounding Southside parks.

The Concept: Following a successful pilot, these specially designated benches are designed to combat loneliness. If you sit on one, it’s a sign to others that you’re open to a friendly chat.
The Rollout: Keep an eye out in Sean Walsh Park and Tymon Park over the coming weeks as the first of the furniture is installed.
The Bonus: This comes alongside a new proposal for a Bowling Green in Sean Walsh Park, aiming to turn the heart of Tallaght into a major social hub for all ages.
