Bank Holiday Monday, so put the feet up after reading this. You've earned it. 🎺
⛅ WEATHER:

Keep an eye out for a 35% chance of snow during the day and light rain tonight.
📣 THE BIG SCOOP : The Dublin Parade Survival Guide and everything You Need to Know
Right — tomorrow is the big one. Noon. Parnell Square. 500,000 people. Vogue Williams. 12 massive floats. 3,000+ performers. Here is literally everything you need to not be caught out. 🎺
🗺️ The Route Starts at Granby Row / Parnell Square North → down O'Connell Street → across O'Connell Bridge → Dame Street → finishes at Cuffe Street / Kevin Street junction. Total route: 2.5km. Parade rolls at noon sharp. |
📍 Where to Stand (The Local's Guide) Best spot: North of the bridge — O'Connell Street between the GPO and Parnell Street. It fills up, but not as badly as south of the bridge. Arrive by 10am at the absolute latest for a decent spot. If you can get to Henry Street or Moore Street end — that's Northside gold. Grandstand tickets (€125–€160) still available at stpatricksfestival.ie if you want a proper seat. |
🚌 Getting There — Leave the Car Home DO NOT drive. Seriously. ⚠️ Tara Street DART station closed until 4pm — use Connolly (Northside) or Pearse (Southside) instead. Luas Red Line suspended Smithfield–Connolly from 10am–3pm. Green Line paused St Stephen's Green–Dominick from 7am–6pm. Nitelink running tonight to get you home safely after. Check transportforireland.ie for your route tomorrow. |
🎒 What to Bring Layers — it's 13°C but you'll be standing still. A flask of tea or coffee. A rain jacket just in case (only 20% chance but you know this country). Snacks — city centre food queues are savage on parade day. Fully charged phone. Green gear if you have it. And for the love of all things holy — comfortable shoes. You'll be standing for 2+ hours. |
🎉 After the Parade — What's On Céilí Mór — 2pm to 5pm: A free outdoor céilí with Dearbhla Lennon (former Riverdancer). Learn steps, listen to live music, absolutely class for the whole family. stpatricksfestival.ie for location. Also: L. Mulligan Grocer and Token both have post-parade events on the Northside 🍺 |

The event is sold out, but it's happening in Dublin 8 tonight and the area will be buzzing. Ticket proceeds go to the Guinness Dublin 8 Community Fund — a lovely touch.
Dublin-Wide · Education
One to watch if you're a parent — Special Needs Assistants (SNAs) across Dublin are planning to "stand up and fight back" amid Government proposals to review SNA allocations in primary and secondary schools. Unions say the changes would disproportionately affect children with complex needs in disadvantaged areas — many of which are on both the Northside and Southside of Dublin. A protest is being organised by SIPTU for later in March. Dublin People broke the story this week.
