Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh !☘️

This is the one. The parade starts at noon from Parnell Square. Vogue Williams is already out and her first words of the morning were: "We got the weather, we got the weather!" And she is absolutely right — 13°C, mostly dry, only 10% chance of rain. Dublin has delivered for Paddy's Day 2026. Now get out there. 🎺🍀

⛅ WEATHER:

  • The Verdict: Relatively mild but blustery. * Highs: 14°C. It’s actually warmer in Dublin today than in Benidorm, so you can leave the heavy parka at home—but keep a light layer for the wind.

  • The Rain: Mostly dry for the parade, though some patchy drizzle might roll in from the west late this afternoon.

📰 NEIGHBORHOOD NUGGETS

Southside · Tallaght / D24 — This Morning

If the city centre isn't your thing — Tallaght has its own brilliant Paddy's Day festival this morning. The Tallaght St. Patrick's Day Festival 2026 kicks off in Tallaght Village at 11:30am with live music, face painting, family entertainment and community acts. Then at 12:15pm there's a 5K Road Race in partnership with Tallaght Athletics Club — and the main Tallaght parade follows at 1:30pm with over 35 local organisations marching. A proper Southside community celebration that's as good as the main event.

Southside West · Lucan

Lucan's 35th neighbourhood parade takes place this afternoon at 3pm. Thirty-five years. That's a serious local tradition. Schools, athletic clubs, community organisations, entertainers — the full Lucan works. If you're based out that way, no excuse not to be out on the road this afternoon. Worth noting — Lucan's parade is traditionally one of the most family-friendly and least chaotic of all the Dublin suburban parades.

Northside West · Blanchardstown / Fingal

Blanchardstown's parade starts at noon — from the Church Avenue / Mill Road / Mary Street junction, along Main Street, past Clonsilla Road junction and finishing at Blanchardstown Garda Station. And not to be outdone — Swords begins its parade at 11am, with a route packed with Irish tradition and community spirit. Two brilliant Northside West celebrations running simultaneously this morning. The pride of Fingal is out in full force today.

Northside · Howth — Vogue's Home Village

With Vogue Williams from Howth leading the national parade today, her home village is absolutely buzzing. Howth itself has its own relaxed Paddy's Day energy — harbour walks, scenic cliff paths, and local pubs along the pier all doing trad sessions. If you started the morning with the Harbour2Harbour Walk from Howth, you've already had the best view of Dublin Bay in the whole country. And if Vogue is grand marshalling the parade — it's a special day for the whole village.

Northside · Stoneybatter / Smithfield

The Lonely Planet described Stoneybatter and Smithfield as among the best Paddy's Day neighbourhoods in Dublin — "brimming with pubs that serve excellent Guinness and host slightly thinner crowds." If you want to avoid the absolute mayhem around Temple Bar and the Quays, the Northside's Capel Street, Smithfield and Stoneybatter strip is the local's choice today. The Cobblestone, Walshs and The Glimmer Man are the ones to aim for. Far better craic than standing in a queue on Dame Street.

Southside Coast · Sandymount / Seapoint / Forty Foot

Every year on Paddy's Day, a brave and slightly unhinged group of Dubliners mark the occasion with a swim at the Forty Foot in Sandycove. At 13°C today — not the worst it's been, but still absolutely freezing — the regulars will be in the water first thing this morning without a second thought. Meanwhile Sandymount Strand and Seapoint are beautiful for a Paddy's Day stroll with the family before the parade passes on the TV. The Southside coast is looking her best on a brighter-than-expected March day.
